The interdependent web of all existence

Our human lives are closely interwoven with all life forms on this planet we call home.

Our human lives are closely interwoven with all life forms on this planet we call home. Each species, in its evolution, has found ways to thrive, and all depend on others for their survival. There have always been natural disasters that species had to endure, but it wasn't until the human species evolved that so many other forms of life have been poisoned, threatened, and destroyed by wars for domination and power over humans, animals, plants, mountains, rivers, and oceans. I've heard it said that the human race is the only species that the planet could survive quite well without.

As a Unitarian Universalist, I fully embrace the principle that says: "We covenant to affirm and promote respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part." This is why wildlife matters to me.
