New Mexico wildlife on my doorstep

My life just outside Santa Fe, New Mexico is vastly richer because of the animals and birds that live all around my semi-rural home. Many common, and some relatively rare, wildlife species have visited us in the last four years. The sounds of coyotes, and even an occasional porcupine at night outside the house keeps us tuned to a world not focused on humans alone. To have the chance to show my daughter and nieces rabbits, birds, even a hawk capturing its prey just outside our window is a gift I could never give up. Without wildlife, our lives in the Southwest would be sterile and far less rewarding.
