Up Close and Personal

I've always been an outdoor enthusiast and nature lover, but living in beautiful Colorado for the last 12 years has transformed that love into a reverence for nature as powerful as faith and a deep need to be active in protecting it. As a professional photographer, I recently attended a photo workshop featuring birds of prey, including some nearly endangered species. What an amazing opprtunity to get really close to these astounding, magnificent animals. What I discovered being in their presence was that I could almost feel their spirit. Each of their personalities was quite unique and distinctive. Their intellingence was undeniable, and it was a very moving experience that I'll never forget. I just can't imagine a world devoid of such incredible creatures, and I wouldn't want to live in such a world. Needless to say, I came away with amazing shots and an even deeper love of nature as a result. The attached photo is a female golden eagle in her prime. Look into her eyes and ask youself, is this stunning bird something you want to see disappear? For me, that would be unthinkable!
