Mitakuye Oyasin

Mitakuye Oyasin
Mitakuye Oyasin

We are all related, every one of us from two-legged, four-legged, winged, each and every one of us are connected upon this maka ina, our Mother Earth.

I have always known from the deepest part of my essence that each and every life matters. No ONE is better than the other. There is a connection and a balance between all. We are each a piece in a magnificent puzzle, and with any One piece missing, that puzzle is incomplete. There is a Lakota saying, a prayer if you will, "Mitakuye oyasin" translated it means 'All my relations". A reminder to us all that Every life is sacred, no one less than another and all should be honored. We are all related, every living species and all are connected upon Maka ina (Mother Earth - my roots is the literal translation) How can we decide to single out and destroy any one of our brethren? Aho!
