It's our responsibility

We humans were given the brains and capabilities to advance and grow.

We humans were given the brains and capabilities to advance and grow. Animals were given the ability to survive in their natural habitats. They know what to eat, they know how to find it. They know where to live, and where to find water. When we take those habitats away, we take away their very ability to survive. The animals' survival becomes our responsibility.

Therefore, it is our duty to ensure that natural habitats stay intact. That we enact laws to protect animals who are incapable of protecting themselves. We must have laws to protect food sources and living environments, because we are not capable of doing this freely on our own. We are too blind to the consequences of our actions when we destroy creatures.

When animal species die out and become extinct due to natural circumstances, that is normal. But when species die out and become extinct because we've destroyed their only food source, or because we've hunted them to extinction, or because our technology has caused their environment to become inhospitable for them and they have nowhere else to go, we need to take steps to protect these creatures from us.

God gave Adam the task of naming all the animals. When you give something a name, that name becomes yours to protect and preserve.
