PASSING THROUGH

This is a poem I wrote some time ago. I still feel this way, intensely. As I don't have a scanner, I'm sorry I can't send you a photo.

My five-star hotel, this planet earth/ run by its Expert Management/ has invited me for an indefinite/ pre-determined stay. I may partake/ of all that is at my disposal/ asked only to dispose unwanted waste/ with utmost care; I wouldn't dare/ to spoil this fine hotel. Rather/ I would honor my appointment/ as Guardian of this lush garden/ sample its fruits and foods/ take note of observations/ left by some who've travelled through/ before, try to add one or two of my own/ then leave it, when my stay is over,/ not better, but unspoiled/ for the next guest....
