Wildlife, Magnificent Creatures - Teach Us and Give Much Joy!

My personal experience with Wildlife... the awe and joy.

Animals are our great educators of life. They belong on our planet and are a necessary part of the harmony of our ecosystem! They have the ability to humble us and give us great joy. I have used my photographs of wildlife to help make others aware of the necessity to preserve our wildlife (my photograph of bears is on the cover for the book on bears, GRRRR)

I have been privileged to have had a Mountain Lion visit my property three times. I also had Bobcats, Coyotes, Roadrunners, snakes, deer, birds, etc. plus countless night creatures visit. Many were "captured" by my camera. The most exciting wildlife encounter I had was while I was working as a volunteer for the California Wildlife Center in Malibu, California. I was on a high cliff overseeing the Sea Lion population. The tide was very high. I saw a Whale in the distance dive and kept looking at the area to see if it would come back up. As I was looking in the distance, all of a sudden the Whale was right in front of me in the high tide! I could reach out and touch him(or her)! I was in deep awe. I could see all the barnacles and his/her eye! How fortunate I am to have this experience!

I would like to have our future generations experience the joy of wildlife and to learn the many lessons from these magnificent creatures that share this earth with us all!
