Wildlife Love

My love of wildlife came from my Step Father.

My love of wildlife came from my Step Father. We lived in Arizona and he was an Agriculture major at the University of Arizona and grew up on a cattle ranch near Benson. Every night we would drive through the desert and we would name the "critters" we saw. Then we'd study them at home or watch Wild Kingdom etc., to find out more about them. He and my mother always made sure I understood that animals came from God and they are loved by Him as well. It sank in, because I can't let a stray kitty walk by me without feeding it or not cry when I see a dead animal on the side of the road. My mother and step-father were instrumental in developing my love of animals.

One week Pop came home and had a huge bunch of pins and bumper stickers that said "SAVE THE WHALES". I was so excited because I knew how awfully they were hunted and what majestic creatures they are. We went to the airport and handed them out and we were a team. We also went to rally's and speeches, but I will always cherish the critter drives and whales.

To this day, I'll never forget those times. I live in another state and miss my family terribly. Thanks Mom and Pop, without you I would have missed out on so much love and so many areas I can help.
