The Teachers

Dogs of all kinds can teach us many things - they teach us love, hope and loyalty. Without dogs both wild and tame the world will be a poorer place.

I have always loved dogs - I have three of my own now. But I also value the dogs of this world I cannot touch or see or hear- the ones Native Americans call 'the teacher'- Wolves.
Last year my husband died aged 49 and my dogs helped me survive that. They gave me a reason to get out of bed - I had to care for other living beings who needed me and without them my life would be less - less laughter, less love and less meaning.
A friend sponsored a wolf for me last year becaues she knew I love dogs, especially wolves - her name is Grey and she is strong and will not be second best! Having a connection with her even though she is on the other side of the world is very important to me. Even though I have never met her, I believe her kind can give our lives more - we don't have to see wild animals to value what they give us - a connection to our own humanity.
Without animals our lives are less but by protecting and valuing them, by learning from them are lives are so much more.
