My life in the North Carolina Woods has been rich. For migrating birds each season to saving turtles and snakes crossing the roads...

I live adjacent to Hanging Rock State Park in North Carolina. For the last five years I have enjoyed to beauty and challenges of living in the woods. From listening to and observing the migrating songbirds each year, to saving the turtles and snakes (so important to the ecosystem!) that cross the roads in the spring. Our woods enjoy a pair of nesting Red Tail Hawks, a Great Horned Owl and a Barred Owl. There is one sound I would love to have here and that is wolf song. I have worked with the Sawtooth Pack at WERC in Idaho and have a rich and deep relationship with these animals. I am diligent in my commitment to educate other "two leggeds" about the wolf, who is so closely connected to humans that we become threatened by them instead of thrilled by them. Nothing compares to being sung to sleep or awakened by their voice. Thanks to the wolf, I know who I am and why I am here. May all souls feel such peace.
